Meet Sam

Sam Johnson, OTD, OTR/L, is a licensed occupational therapist and founder of PEAK Therapy. She is licensed through the Montana Board of Occupational Therapy and is nationally certified through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Sam earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Montana State University in Bozeman in 2017 and her Doctor of Occupational Therapy from the University of Mary in 2021.

Sam brings experience across a variety of clinical settings, including outpatient pediatrics, school-based practice, and adult inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. She has worked with individuals with a wide range of diagnoses and developmental needs and has a particular interest in primitive reflex integration. Sam has completed training in the Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI®) Method, to better understand and address the role of primitive reflexes in development and function.

Sam takes a holistic approach to supporting children and families, with a focus on building a strong foundation for health, development, and participation in everyday life. Committed to providing thoughtful, evidence-informed care, she regularly pursues continuing education to expand her clinical knowledge and skills and provide individualized, high-quality care to each child and family she serves.

Outside of her clinical work, Sam enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs, pursuing outdoor activities that include hiking, camping, fly fishing, and skiing.

How we work

A child is more than a checklist of skills

We look at the whole child, not just a single challenge. We consider what may be underneath an everyday difficulty, from sensory processing and movement patterns to the demands of daily routines.

Sessions are child-led and grounded in what matters to each family. We work alongside caregivers so ideas can carry into real life, at a pace that feels possible.

Our care is evidence-informed and shaped by ongoing continuing education. When clinically appropriate, primitive reflex assessment and intervention can be part of a broader occupational therapy plan.
